What is Baron Technology, Inc./Baron Fulfillment?

Baron Technology is a 33-year-old custom design studio and engraving shop that provides engraving services to an individual, for use by a military unit, law enforcement agency or department, an organization, or on large-volume projects for manufacturers to enhance their product.

Baron integrates hand-engraving techniques used for centuries with today’s ever expanding technology, converting your blank platform–whatever the size, shape or material–into a masterwork of art. Baron has several process options to meet almost any budget.

Baron Technology also provides art and creative services to transform your vision into a format that once you approve can be engraved by Baron Technology’s craftsmen. Baron Fulfillment administers the transaction.

What kind of products do you engrave?

You name it! Baron Technology, during its 33 years of operation, has engraved a wide variety of products that were sent to Baron by the customer or their supplier. Most Military Deployment Editions are firearms, either handguns or long guns, and sometimes knives/cutlery, too. Other items range from wedding rings and cufflinks to fly fishing bamboo rods and titanium reels; from pewter table ware to silverware and special-edition musical instruments including guitars, flutes, cymbals and drums to custom motorcycle parts. Some of the more unusual products sent to Baron were the historic ships bells that adorn Australian Navy vessels and the solid sterling ship’s wheel that was engraved for an extravagant yacht. We are proud that several United States’ Presidents and countless dignitaries possess gifts that were engraved by Baron.

Does Baron sell product that is already engraved or blank goods?

No, Baron does not sell product of any kind. Baron Fulfillment will, however, act as purchaser for firearms directly from manufacturer or representatives that are meant for embellishment to the military or law enforcement communities. It is likely these firearms would be sent as whole guns and if needed, Baron gunsmiths do the disassembly and reassembly after engraving, and we then forward the batch onto the FFL dealer designated near your returning home base or post.

Will Baron embellish one of something or just large-volume projects?

Any number. Baron will work with you, your military unit or outside agency to produce any quantity whether a single piece, 14 personalized pieces of similar design, or hundreds of one product. If your military unit has 100 members, expect 25-35% to participate in your special edition offering, if it is a firearm; knives/cutlery items, owing to their lower starting cost, usually have a greater participation rate. Baron has the capacity to run several projects each year that number in the thousands of units, but Baron still has the single and personal touch to engrave that one distinct piece that must be unique.

How Do I Communicate what art I want on my product?

The first step is to call Baron at 203-452-0515 or email Baron at BTI@baronengraving.com and let us know a few details about what you have in mind. We will work with you to answer your questions and help lead you to the best approach. That is also the opportunity for us to explain a few of the options that would best suit your needs, share photos of similar types of projects and review timelines.

The following is a description of art file formats that are best suited if you have a unit patch, logos, emblems or other design elements to submit as part of the art layout process. Art File needs: to ensure an accurate reproduction of supplied artwork, supplied reference materials are asked to be vector-based artwork with typeface saved as a Corel CDR or CMX file on disk or email. If this format is not available, EPS vector files, SVG, B&W TIFF or WMF files are acceptable. Original, high-contrast black and white art with sharp, defined edges are critical without gray or fuzzy areas. A second file showing colors will also be needed. Artwork not complying with these guidelines could require additional development or conversion costs than the price quoted or hours estimated.

How much will the engraving cost?

Each project is unique in its own way and therefore it is not possible to give specific pricing, however, the submission form will give you very specific pricing options based on a standard, enhanced or high-grade coverage. Engraving and art costs are in addition to the price of firearm or cutlery piece, but are given at a discount to active U.S. Military personnel in gratitude for service to our nation. For military deployment editions, it is recommended that an account be opened to handle check deposits from participants, as Baron will require one deposit check for purchase of weapons, and one balance check upon delivery for engraving and shipping. What isn’t acceptable for instance is 35 individual checks from each who participates. Art time is priced at a reduced rate for military projects at $65.00 per hour.

How much time does it take to get a project completed?

The first step in almost any project is defining, refining or possibly creating the art design. Depending on the number of revisions desired and approval by the customer, that may take anywhere from two weeks to a month. As Baron has several types of process options, some will take longer to make it through production than others, but once product is received, it usually takes four to six weeks to complete. Of course, this is dependent on your quantity, delivery commitments by customer, and the complexity of the engraving. Some customers need it tomorrow and others plan far ahead. Either way, Baron will work with you to ensure we exceed your expectations for an embellishment that is destined to be presented over time as an heirloom from this generation to the next.

Where do I ship the product?

Baron Technology, Inc. is located at 62 Spring Hill Road Trumbull, Connecticut 06611. Baron Fulfillment has the capability to receive and reship through USPS, UPS, FedEx and through truck freight services.

What is the form of payment?

Baron Fulfillment will accept payment through check, credit card (MasterCard or Visa) and for customers with established credit, an account can be established with set terms.

Is an FFL Exchange necessary?

For projects that involve a serialized firearm or serialized parts, Baron will exchange our current Federal Firearms License with the dealer or registered transfer agent to whom we are sending the product. Military units may have another system for transfer that will need to be reviewed with Baron.
